12 Mexican intelligence agents tortured, slain

Mexican officials have identified 12 bodies found dumped in Michoacan state as off-duty federal intelligence officers who were ambushed by a drug cartel they were investigating.

The bound, blindfolded and tortured bodies of the 11 men and one woman were found piled one on top the other last night at the junction of the Siglo 21 Lázaro Cárdenas-Morelia and Nuevo Centro de Población highways, in the town of La Huacana. Public security spokesman, Monte Alejandro Rubido, said they were ambushed and executed by the La Familia cartel. Earlier reports said the bodies were those of soldiers.

Michoacan and surrounding states have been under La Familia cartel fire since Sunday after agents arrested Arnoldo Rueda, one of La Familia Michocana’s most powerful, top earning, leaders.

I hope we can agree that combating drug crime is important. But maybe a different approach is necessity.

While not all of Mexico is ”under fire”, maybe it’s good advice, for the time being...Looks like things are gonna get worse before ever getting better.

Mexico is not having a war on drugs. They are closer to just a plain old civil war. Its truly amazing that these drug gangs in the last several months have now expanded their aggression from the civilians and the police to now the army as the target. If Army Intelligence officials are not save then no one is.

You are correct....It’s Narco vs POLICE, police vs narco, police vs. army, narcos vs civilians, GOOD VS EVIL..

Continue on Mexican soldiers, federal police...Save our country..

the war on drugs is a war on morality. it has been going on for too many years and has failed miserably. decriminalize, legalize, prescribe. judge jim gray wrote an interesting book arguing the failure of the so called drug war and i highly recommend it for everyone interested in this national discourse. "why our drug laws have failed and what we can do about it" http://www.judgejimgray.com/whyourdruglawshavefailed.php

Thanks for the link....A new startegy MUST be invoked, but I’m afraid, at least for Mexico, it is not just so cut and dry as ”LEGALIZE” and it will be gone.

Oscar is right, guns are legal in America but still there are gun ’bootleggers’ of a sort. You can’t keep anything away from criminals no matter how many laws you make because they are CRIMINALS they don’t care! All you can do is lock them up when you catch them.

Hakan is also right about the failure, in the drug war... drugs won! The morality police have impeded any progress that could have been made in that area.

It might just be civil war in Mexico, either that or they just give over the country to the drug kingpins.
