NPR is talking right now about a scientist who predicted the quake a couple weeks ago, and was dismissed by the Italian government.

Sadly, this is not uncommon. Hindsight is always 20/20. What would it have costs to have announced, at least, the possibility of an earthquake after hearing this scientists? I pray for the people and their nation’s recovery.

It's easy to feel sad for these people, but if I really think about, I can't even begin to imagine how I'd feel if my house was destroyed, or one of my loved ones lost. I hope my friend Pasquale is alright.

One of my distant family members was near the epicenter of the quake. When things started to shake her husband dragged everyone outside of the house asap. The guy was a contractor and apparently knew his old home was going to fall. Shortly before the quakes stopped their 2.5 level home collapsed completely, while the family with a newborn and 3yr old daughter were safe in the back yard away from anything that could topple on them.

I don’t know why our scientists are not able to predict accurately such natural calamities?

If one will ask them to invent a deadly bomb, they will hardly take any time.
