With a heavy heart, I announce this will be my last citizen journal post. With what I am sure will be seen by my Mexican government as an extreme act of treason and threat to national security punishable by prison, if not death, I wish to inform the world, the truth: My entire country has been placed under martial law, we are under complete military lockdown. My movements, as well as my American wife’s and children have been tightly restricted and we have been told to stay off the strrets or face arrest. World wide mainstream media has been blanketed My government is denying everything, the end is not near; my country has already collapsed.
What the fuck? Where hell have I been? One would think, as a Mexican living in Mexico, I might have been given the advantage of a heads up. I mean, had I been forewarned, I would have been studying the How to Survive Martial Law webguide a little more diligently and begun hording cash, canned goods, medications, water and such. Hell, had I known this shit was about to happen, I would have started buying some of those damn weapons that keep getting smuggled into Mexico, myself.
Lucky for me, although never realizing our media had been completely blacked out sometime ago, I attempted and was succesful in connecting to the internet and entering Google this morning. I do not have the answers as to why our Government and military have not wiped out internet, but I fear it was no accident; surely it is a source of ousting possible Mexican extremists who might rebel against the Mexican New Order.
Christ, you know what? This is so ridiculous I can’t even write about it sarcatically anymore. Did you really believe me? This entire headline is absolute and utter mierda, and sadly according to blogs, many people have fallen for it.
Chrysler5thavenue announced on March 7, 2009 the following on it’s website:
I just heard from a reliable source in Mexico that martial law has been imposed. The country is under complete military lockdown. Mexican citizens and American tourists have had their movement tightly restricted and are being told to stay off the streets under penalty of arrest. Mexican officials are denying that the country is about to collapse.
Now, who was the reliable source chrysler5thavenue mentioned? No other than the American journalist/talk TV host, Geraldo Rivera, of the American television network FOX TV.

On March 8, 2009 Chrysler5thavenue website’s updated headline was: Geraldo was Silenced, with the following report:
After we broke the story earlier last night, veteran reporter Geraldo Rivera announced that Mexico was under martial law. A headline on the screen read “BREAKING NEWS: MEXICAN PRES DECLARES MARTIAL LAW - CIVILIANS AND AMERICANS PUT ON LOCKDOWN.” Part way through the report, the graphic was taken down and Rivera, under pressure from either Mexican or American authorities, was forced to take back the statement and announce that martial law had technically not been imposed. It was clear from his words though that it was in effect martial law and that there was an effort underway to downplay the events currently proceeding in Mexico. On the broadcast, Mexican officials projected a calm and confident image despite the escalation of guerilla warfare behind them.
I must be missing something. Although, the headline definitly should not have stated MEXICAN PRES DECLARES MARTIAL LAW- CIVILANS AND AMERICANS PUT ON LOCKDOWN, I did not, after viewing the video multiple times, see an evil media censoring force, be it Mexican or American, swoop down and strongarm a change of headlines.
For the record, let me state: MEXICO HAS NOT BEEN PLACED UNDER MARTIAL LAW, citizens are free to come and go, although, especially in Juarez, many choose to limit after dark and or unnecessary outings.
Thousands of new soldiers have been poured into Juarez for a reason: To protect civilians and police from the warring drugtraffickers which have forced Juarez into a Narco Policed State:

The term NARCO policed state describes a state in which the NARCO exercises rigid and repressive controls over the social, economic and political life of the population. A NARCO policed state typically exhibits elements of totalitarianism and social control, and there is usually little or no distinction between the law and the exercise of political power by the NARCO executive.
The inhabitants of a NARCO policed state experience restrictions on their mobility, and on their freedom to express or communicate political or other views, which are subject to NARCO monitoring or enforcement. Political control may be exerted by means of a secret NARCO police force which operates outside the boundaries normally imposed by a constitutional republic.-Wikipedia definition: The only change made was the addition of the word NARCO.
The Mexican army will not take over all functions of the Juarez police: The police will still manage civil security and arrests for rape, non-drug related homicides, robbery, traffic incidents, abuse, and much more; they simple will no longer be in the line of cartel fire.
Unlike the U.S. War on Drugs, there is no word play in Mexico’s WAR ON DRUGS. Our nation is fighting a WAR for independence from drug cartels. Much has been said about Mexico’s corrupt police, and sadly it is true. There have been and surely continue to be corrupt police officials across the country, but not all Mexican police are on the take.
Simply put, corrupt or not, what is happening is much larger than a simple drug deal gone bad or trafficking operation. Juarez police are outnumbered, outweaponed, and quite frankly, should not be and should never have been forced to place their lives or their family’s on the line against highly organized, well powered, narco paramilitary operations. This is war. Soldiers fight wars.
I hope I have been able to shed some light, before I go I’d like to leave a few words and a small gift for the bloggers at Chrysler5thavenue. When writing, try to investigate, IF YOU DON’T KNOW IF IT’S TRUE OT NOT, state it as such. When using reliable sources in regards to the sudden collapse of Mexico, try using a MEXICAN SOURCE, we’re not difficult to find, and believe it or not, we are pretty open in stating the facts of what is happening here, the true facts. Although your blog isn’t primetime news, I assure you, many do read it. News of this magnitude should not be tossed around lightly. Speaking of militarization and soldiers, I have left the following gift, just for you:
