Let the truth be known. I eat beef, lamb, goat, fish, fowl, seafood, and dairy products. I use bee’s honey for sore throats and sometimes just to sweeten my cereal. I buy medications for myself and children without prior PETA approval. I do not check my wife’s cosmetics to see if they are organic in nature and allow my oldest son to play American football which consequentially led to him needing five catgut sutures in his palm.

I drive a used Ford Expedition with worn leather seats and on weekends I watch movies with my family on my suede couch eating butter drizzled popcorn. I wear leather shoes on my size 11.5 feet and cherish my black leather wallet that my children bought with their hard earned money as a birthday gift, along with a cake that was surely made with real eggs and butter. When the temperature drops in our Mexican winter, we all bundle up in our lambs wool coats. I once gifted my wife a pair of pearl earrings, and was disappointed to see the early nineties silk shirt trend end.

I have three dogs, one cat, two horses, and a turtle; I love them all and have not once thought of eating them. I have picked up lost, battered, and abused animals to find them medical attention and give them food and shelter. I have never been accused of sneaking into neighboring ranches to maim, steal, or slaughter their livestock. I do not hunt or fish and I do not have an increased tolerance to violence and blood. I do not abuse my children, wife, or neighbor and am still appalled by the clubbing of baby seals.

Am I a hypocrite, maybe. Am I a rifle wielding, murderous, evil monster, no. Am I human, yes.
