The drug addiction epidemic is widespread in Iran. Many Afghans drug addicts have been caught there in Iran and sent back to Afghanistan where they lead miserable lives.
They tell stories how Iranian prison guards provided them with heroin. Check for the pictures of some of them in Nasim Fekrat's photo website here.

Dear God..Do the guards provide them with the heroin to keep them subdued, ot to allow them to die slowly?

Isn't it ironic that 'model' Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan (under Taliban) etc that have provisions to publicly flog an alcohol drinker and even execute repeat offenders have flourishing drug markets?

Doesn’t seem quite possible does it?

Iran is a terror funding nation and to cover the costs of its clandestine logistic support to terrorists it uses drug money. Drug dealers enjoy great freedom on Iran and the ones who are punished are the ones who cheat the government on "drug tax".

Sad....the tax cheaters are punished, but the users are the ones who seem to be paying the harshest punishment.

Iran is a horrendous country with no sane government. The democracy in Iran that we see is not supreme but the clergy is. Not even a bird flies in Iran without the will of the mullahs running the country and they are barbarians.

sadly, this happens in many countries..Are the clergy involved as well with the drugs, or do they protect the movement?

Absolutely horrifying. May their souls rest in peace, for most of them must be dead by now.....and if any of them are still alive, I hope that whichever god is supposed be looking after them gets down to work. Now.
(You know Oscar, we all get lucky sometimes, and I got lucky the day, 35 years ago, that I tried heroin and decided it just wasn’t for me. Many people I knew at that crazy time in my life are no longer here.....)
