You’ve gotta’ love Mexico D.F., really. Whether it be for mass kissing or nude photos, Mexico city is always ready and willing to compete for another world record.
Michael Jackson fans in Mexico City have been practicing in front of the Palacio de Bellas Artes dancing to ‘Thriller’ for what will be an attempt to break the world record for the biggest mass “Thriller” dance, Below is a video of the rehearsals.
On August 29, 2009, the day the King of Pop would have turned 51 and the day he will finally be laid to rest, Mexico City will not only pay homage to Jackson, but also attempt to thrill their way into the Guiness Book of World Records, yet again. Led by Mexican Jackson impersonator “Héctor Jackson” and choreographer Adolfo Chávez, an estimated 11,000 people will attempt to break the World Record for the biggest mass “Thriller” dance.

The Guinness Book of World Records says the most people to dance to “Thriller” simultaneously in one place is held by a group of 242 College of William & Mary students who performed the routine in May, however, I think Mexico should set our goal a little higher and at least aim for breaking the over 1500 plus CPDRC inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines at practice.
