Hell hath no fury like a Newsvine query...on illegal immigration. As the story has been told, 12,000,000 of my Mexican compatriots waited until nightfall to sneak through the cracks of our great northern neighbor, illegally. It was a master plan, carefully taught and trained to every Mexican child right up to their graduation in the fifth grade: Go north and renconquer our stolen land while pillaging and pushing illegal drugs on every American of every town in your path. Take that you filthy gringos, you have been Mexicanized. May God place two tacos on every plate and a rooster in every yard. ¡VIVA MEXICO, CABRONES!

I’ve got to admit, I knew what I’d be facing on the predominately American Newsvine, just as I knew my fate today when entering the infamous Shing Long Buffet for lunch. My goal was clear, I would master self containment. I would not devour everything in my path. I am happy to report on Newsvine, I held my ground. As a lone Mexican warrior, I conjured up my Aztec Gods and embraced my divine powers. I used my truth seeking spears and machete like words to enlighten, disarm, and awaken bilateral responsibility. Shing Long, on the other hand, proved much stronger to resistance.
The truth is, I need to speak my truth, no more and no less. I do not agree with the illegal immigration of my copatriots. Although I know why many go, it is still wrong; It is hurting both Mexicans and Americans. My acknowledgement of this crime does not render support to the American’s who are blindly spewing hate, lies, and stupidity. Nobody, especially 12,000,000, casually waltzed in undetected. The same as my government helped pack their bags and walk them to the border, American’s left the backdoor open and the porch light on, awaiting their arrival.
Illegal immigration is a flourishing business, one which is shared by bilateral friends. Working class citizens, on both sides of the border, are left picking up slack and the pieces that have shattered through bilateral exploitation. We could both be considered victims of this horrific and evil crime, had we not watched it in silence, together.
Evil within a nation cannot be created by corrupt and violent actions. Evil is created by citizens inaction.
Mexico is awakening, we are acknowleding the need for citizen responsibility. It is true we have lived over eighty years of oppressive corruption by the hand of our nation; our rights ceased to exist. However, our rights became null because WE didn’t make them our rights. Civil rights are useless if not validated and activated by the power of the people.
On another Newsvine blog, I was sadly made aware that my Northern neighbor and I are one in the same. They too are sad, tired, and scared. They are angry at there government yet, have also forgotten their power and rights. It gave me hope to see we could communicate and stand on common ground, after all, we both want the same. We want a government that will work for the people, not against the people. We are willing to take responsibilty and action in the returning of bilateral peace and liberty. I was reminded of that when I opened my email and found the following:
Hi Mexico, I’d very much like to add you to my Friends List on Newsvine. I sent you an invitation. Of course, that is up to you, and no hard feelings if you don’t want to connect. I am a 46-year-old woman living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Also, as a note of interest, I lived in Lima, Peru, for 2 1/2 years when I was in high school, mi espanol es muy mal! I crafted and sent an email to “my” Congressmen today in regard to illegal immigration. You inspired me!
I have learned one person is not too small to make a big difference. Of course they’ll always be ignorance, stupidity, and hate in the world. I will always find someone demanding the construction of the wall, to them, my response is build it. If you so desire, it is your right, if it’ll help things out, I’ll even support it; Build it high and build it now. I’m sure I’ll also always have someone offering to kick my Mexican ass, I can respect that too. Let’s start kicking. You kick my ass, I’ll kick yours, and when we’re done, maybe we can finally sit down together and begin creating change.
Peace and Paz.
