Two of Mexico’s famed midget wrestlers were found dead in a hotel room Wednesday, after apparently being drugged and robbed by prostitutes in the Moderna hotel just outside of the Coliseo Arena.

The 36-year-old brothers Alberto and Alejandro Perez-Jiminez, also known as La Parkita and Espectrito II in the wrestling world, were found in their bedroom at the low-rent motel in Mexico City.

The two veteran mini-luchador legends began their careers 17 years ago in a tag team called the Small Devils and sometimes crossed over into American WWF/WWE wrestling.

Post-mortems are being performed on the pair, but authorities say four hotel employees witnessed two forty-something year old prostitutes entering the hotel and ordering two beers before heading up to the brother’s room and again witnessed the women leaving the men’s hotel room a few hours later before the bodies were discovered.

The women who spiked the twins’ drinks are thought to be members of an organised crime gang who pose as prostitutes to attract victims.

Police have stated the brothers were found with no signs of physical violence or pre-death sexual activitiy that their belongings were missing from the scene. Cyber police are currently analyzing the hotel’s closed circuit video feeds.

Prosecutor Miguel Angel Mancera said that gangs of female robbers are experienced at using drugs to knock men out and rob them. The use of eye drops combined with alcohol affects the cardiovascular and respitory systems causing a deficit in the circulation of blood from the internal organs back to the heart.

Although it has not been officially confirmed by the medical examiner, the combination seems to have proved lethal to the Perez-Jimenez brothers. The cocktail may have been made fatal because of the wrestlers’ small stature, although larger men have also died in similar crimes.

With the probable addition of the two Perez-Jimenez brothers, five men have been murdered this year by prostitutes using the same modus operandi.
